The Private Whale Season Sunrise Tour isn't just your everyday tour. It's for you , away from the groups, away from the long check in lines, out on the Bay with your very own Senior Kayak Guide, looking for an encounter with migrating Humpback Whales.
Beat the heat and hit the water with the sun just dawning on a new day.A highlight of your stay in Byron Bay will be this ocean adventure padding up close with dolphins, whales and turtles in Cape Byron's Marine National Park and learning the local Aboriginal stories and sacred places.
You will also have a great view of Byron's coast line and the Byron Bay lighthouse from the water.
Your Tour Program:
1. Your 2 hour kayak tour will start at Byron Bay beach
- Meet your Senior Guide, someone with thousands of hour experience here in Byron Bay, not just your everyday Guide
- Kit up in your wetsuits and safety gear
- Learn the basics of paddling a sit-on-top kayak
2. Then we hit the ocean
- Cruise onto the water , getting out past the shore break, then heading off in search of these majestic marine mammals
- Learn about local Aboriginal stories and sacred places. The culrural history of this area is amazing and will give you a new appreciation for this beautiful place.
- Paddle along The Pass surfing Mecca, Wategos millionaire row and Cape Byron, Australia's most Easterly point
- Keep an eye out for those cheeky dolphins, whales when in season and turtles popping up for a breath of fresh salty air. It is such a priviledge to see these marine mammals in their own habitat, wild and free and not in captivity.
- Be amazed by the clear water, colour and variety of the tropical fish & reef. We've got some super clear googles for you in the back pocket of your lifejacket, throw them on slide in beside your kayak for a swim and possibly hear and see whales!
- Head out off Cape Byron into the Humpback Highway, scan the bay for Whales moving through their annual migration, graceful and awe inspiring.
- Perhaps view our local dolphins as they fish or rest somewhere within the bay.
3. Take a Break
- Relax and take in the spectacular coastline scenery
4. Paddle back to the main beach
- Enjoy the stunning view of the Byron Bay coast line and lighthouse whilst paddling back to shore
